Minimalist

 

Sometime it's best to keep things simple. Throw on a simple dress, minimum jewellery and you're out of the door.

High summer florals

 

As the hot weather continued, I found myself looking more and more for breezy lightweight clothes (like these H&M floral shorts), wearing less and less jewellery (with the odd bracelet or necklace) and trying new options of wearing my hair up.

I'm loving the heat, but comfort has become number one priority.

InstaMonday

 

1. Was feeling blue so bought a new Essie nail polish Mezmerized. I also love Chanel Blue satin for winter.

2. New Essie in action. Look out for the outfit post later this week.

3. New cushions. I'm sure I said it before but.. I love chevron :)

4. There are days when I'm already thinking about autumn. About stocking up my winter wardrobe and wearing burgundy.

5. Don't you just love summer. It's full of beautiful colours, pretty flowers everywhere and you may even spot lovely butterflies.

The /new/ bag and what's in it

 

I've been looking for a great new bag for a while. When I saw this one on sale in DKNY store I couldn't not buy it. It was everything I had been looking for. Roomy enough for all my essentials, nude colour that will go with everything and a great price.

So now the big question is: What do I carry around? I thought I'd share..

 

1. Iphone - can't imagine my life without it. Cover by Lanvin.

2. Ipad - I have an online job. Like my phone, can't be without it. Love my new DvF case :)

3. Filofax - I'm a bit old-school and still like to write things down.

4. DKNY wallet - have had it for years. It's starting to wear off but the colour is so perfect I don't want to give it up.

5. Keys and chewing gums (for obvious reasons)

 6. Dior sunglasses. I always carry sunglasses and never umbrella, which probably doesn't make much sense in England but I have sensitive eyes. And sunglasses are such a good accessory.

 7. Business cards - because you never know who you may ran into.

8. Valentino Valentina perfume - for freshening up.

 9. Clarins hand cream - have been using it for years and swear by it.

10. At least a couple of lipstick or lipglosses. Usually it's more.. YSL ones are among faves.

11. Chanel powder - it's nearly gone but I use it as mirror.

12. Bottle of water. I drink about 3 litres a day. Must-have for me. (I put Vitamin tablets in it that's why it's pink - not because I love pink - just a happy coincidence).

13. Sweetner - in case I buy coffee and they don't have it. Hate sugar (but not sugary things).

 

These are every day items, but often there's more.. Magazines, my DSLR, flats for emergencies etc.

Now you know why I need a big bag..

The all new outfit

 

This NEVER happens. All new outfit. Most of my clothes have been in my wardrobe for years. Or I buy a new thing or two but never loads. Well.. I've a confession to make - I hit the sales hard. It's so much better to shop in sales, you can get amazing bargains. Like this DKNY bag - it cost me £72!

And it's exactly what I've been looking for. Roomy enough to store everything I carry around ( I carry a lot of stuff), nude colour that will go with everything and made from softest of leather.

 

Pink lace top cost £10 from River Island, shorts H&M not in sale but still for rather reasonable £10 and my shoes are my own design from Upper street. You may have read about them here.

The rest are the usual suspects: Dior sunglasses, Michael Kors watch, H&M rings and New icons bracelet.

Off duty look

 

Working in creative industry means I can wear pretty much everything, so there isn't really off duty look, but this one is a bit too casual, I'd normally reserve it to the beach or going to park on one of these hot summer days.

This dress holds a great memories for me. I bought it on my first trip to NYC (hopefully there will be more trips) on another hot day in Abercrombie and Fitch. It's very lightweight and super comfy, therefore perfect for the heatwave.

Denim vest

 

 I bought this denim vest in H&M years ago and don't really wear it that often, but it's a timeless piece and I like throwing it on over dresses to add and interesting detail. As UK's heatwave continues I mostly wear minimum jewellery, hair up and short dresses. This one is from Juicy couture (amazing ebay bargain), sandals ALDO, Michael Kors bag and watch, H&M rings and New icons bracelet, Chloe sunglasses.
