Selfridges - my favourite place to shop and more

It was my birthday last week and I decided to treat myself with a bit of a shopping spree. What a better place to cure my thirst for nice things than my No1 Selfridges! I did quite well, although didn't buy anything major. The things I want to mention, are from my favourite MAC beauty counter. It's very hard for me to stop by and leave empty-handed. This time I stocked up on my new can't-live-without-it mascara ZOOM LASH in black, blusher in STYLE and a new shadow of the oh-so-popular LIPGLASS in FUCHSIA. MAC products are at very competetive prices, have great staying power and are the best tricks of proffesional make-up artists. And the selection is unbelievable.
I also want to show you, especially to my non-London readers, some of current Selfridges shop windows. I love them. They get changed quite often and always look great. Very inspiring.
Have a stylish day.

Christian Louboutin

"Shoes are better than a facelift," says Christian Louboutin's customer. And she's quite right. Cause there is (painless) happy feeling, when you purchase a new 100th pair of shoes, that you definitely need, step into the ridiculously high-heeled wonder and feel absolutely fabulous, that no plastic surgery will give you.
I read an article today in my free weekly dose of fashion in Stylist magazine, where they interviewed the master himself (you can read it at stylist.co.uk). I am a well known shoe addict and would love to owe at least one pair by the great designer. Well, one day... Everyone wants some of his famous red-soled beauties. Shoes are a great way to liven up your old LBD or transform any old outfit. Heels make your legs look great and walk sexy. What more to ask for? What can I say. You can never have too many pairs and I bet Christian and his customers would agree.

statement necklace

By now you may know I'm a big accessories fan. At the moment I'm really into statement necklaces. I've shown you quite a few designer ones, but now I'm bringing you a great one I found on the high street. It's from Oasis and for £35 it's a bargain worth every penny. Statement necklaces are an easy way how to update your outfit, looking great with plain tees and a pair of jeggins. Add flats during the day and heels in the evening and you're sorted.

Museum of Bags and Purses - Amsterdam

After a two-week break, which I spent on holiday in my home tome in the Czech Republic, I am back with more tips and views on fashion, art, lifestyle and so on.. And if you, like me when you come back from abroad, can't wait to go on another adventure as soon as possible, then you might like little suggestion. I'm planning a short trip to Amsterdam for a bit of culture and history, and you can imagine my excitement, when I discovered, that this great city has a museum dedicated to handbags and purses. I checked the website: www.tassenmuseum.nl and it looks great! Now I just have to count down the days till my weekend break away. The museum has a great selection of handbags in date order going back to 1500!
And what's more, at the moment until 19 August 2010 they are holding exhibition Crystal loves leather, where leading designers and upcoming avante-garde designers have taken inspiration from CRYSTALLIZED Swarowski Elements and from two new applications of the crystals on leather. "The result is a true romance," the website says. I can't wait to see it! And of course report to you.
Have a stylish day.

Chanel AW'10

Next autumn/winter we should definitely keep warm. Come what may, the designers are taking no chances and all the catwalks were full of cosy sweaters, beautiful jackets (I can't forget to mention the Chanel leather one) and very practical yet stylish coats. At Chanel you could see lots of fur, even on boots, so you can keep your feet warm as well. There was also a lot of traditional black and white, and I especially loved all the white dresses. But the best bits was the jewellery. Stunning rings, cuffs, statement necklaces are all to die for. I want them all!

Lee McQueen - the last collection

I still can't believe Alexander McQueen is no more. It is a true loss of a fashion genius. He has such a creative mind and every show was delighting to watch. His clothes were unique and sought after. His last collection for AW'10 proves his amazing talent and skills. Here are some of my favourite looks. He will be missed. R.I.P.

Emanuel Ungaro - Paris Fashion Week

What I really like about this AW'10 collection is the use of colours. Whilst many shows are using typical autumnal palettes, at Emanuel Ungaro they showed various colour options, plus quite a lot of my favourite pink. So you can see why I rate it so high. Especially all those shoes and accessories.

Isabel Marant AW'10 at Paris Fashion Week

I've only discovered Isabel Marant recently, but I've fallen in love with her clothes straight away. She designes wearable, sexy and chic clothes, that has won her many admirers. Her latest collection was full of cropped trousers, which I loved and all the pieces just mix so well together so you can get a lots of wear out of it all. There was also quite a few metallic pieces, a trend that is still big right now, but I can assure you, these clothes will look great more than one season.

Rick Owens AW'10 - Paris Fashion Week

If you're looking for the perfect leather jacket, look no further than Rick Owens. They are cut to give everyone great proportions, look sexy yet sophisticated. What more to ask for? Well he also makes great wardrobe basics, and created some fabulous wedge boots. And of course there's more. His pieces are timeless and will go well with most of what you already have. That's why I rate it so high.
Have a stylish day.

Balmain AW'10 at Paris Fashion Week

Christophe Decarnin is becoming my number one fashion hero. Very likely he's gonna share the top spot with Tom Ford, but I didn't even expect that to happen. But the man is a genius! I love his rock'n'roll vibe and he cuts the best trousers around, with great tops to finish it off. His AW'10 collection also consisted of stunning mini and long dresses made of beautiful fabrics, plus he still continues the strong shoulder trend, which I love! I predict "Balmania" to continue for seasons to come.
Have a stylish day.

Nicolas Andreas Taralis AW'10 at Paris Fashion Week

This was a great way how to start Paris Fashion Week. The Nicolas Andreas Taralis's AW'10 show was mainly black and very sexy. Slim cut trousers, cropped jackets, lots of sheer fabrics. Tres chic.
