Grace Coddington - a great inspiration

After watching The September Issue I, like many other people, fell in love with Grace Coddington. What a creative genius! I felt sorry for her when, Anna Wintour behaved like the devil who wears not only Prada. But you couldn't help but notice all the amazing work she does and felt really inspired. I am planning a photoshoot for my portfolio very soon and with my love for pearls and a lace all over the catwalks a decided to look back into the 20's. Which brings me back to Grace and her beautiful photoshoot for The September issue. I hope the shoot will go back and I will of course post some pictures later on.
Have a stylish day.

summer wedges

I am already thinking about summer and my new wardrobe. I seriously can't wait for what I'm hoping will be a very hot summer and wearing some strapless dresses and strappy sandals. What I'll most definitely be buying is a pair of new wedges. I love them every season of the year, but in the warmer months, they are the most usefull, because of the comfort. I checked the web for inspiration and this is what I've discovered so far. Hope you like them as much as I do.

rick owens - the great basics

A new collection of Rick Owens' clothes just arrived at net-a-porter and I love it all. It's the great basics that will go with whatever you've got in your wardrobe already and give it a new lease of life. There is everything you may need, including a pair of great wedge ankle boots, which I love for their comfort, without compromising style, beautiful dresses, that can be dressed up or down and some amazing biker jackets to add the perfect final touch. Everything so wearable and you can keep it simple or add some colourfull accessories, depending on your mood. Exactly the kind of clothes I want. So hurry up before it's all gone.

iconic dresses

So the other day I told you about the Selfridges' concept store - the 90's are officialy vintage and it got me thinking about that era. In the 90's I got from age 9 to 18 and those were the years that my style was starting to shape up. My fashion hero, as I'm sure you know by now, was and still remains Tom Ford and if I have to think about an iconinc dress from that era, it would definitely be by him. But aside from the obvious gothic collection I picked a dress that was photographed a lot and I'm sure many people remember. I believe it's quite timeless and I would happilly wear it now if I owned it. So yes the 90's are vintage now and I shall be searching for some great finds from those times. I also wonder what iconic dresses will the new decade bring. I'm looking forward to sharing my views on them with you.

memorable fashion moments

I love Sex and the City. I admit to owning the DVD boxset and watching it so many times I can't even remember. I really admire Patricia Field's styling and what she achieved with her work. I am a big fan of Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe and like many other women can't wait for the movie sequel to come out. Now, with the official trailer hitting the screens, plus internet, you get a little preview of what's to come. And there has been a lot of talk about Sarah Jessica Parker collaborating with Halston Heritage, the revamped label thanks to Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo. Carrie wears a lot of Halston in the trailer and promo pictures and I'm expecting a copies of the dresses to hit the high street very soon. I predict a lot of unforgettable fashion moments actually and I am very excited. Bring on the May 28!

the 90s are vintage - pop-up store in Selfridges

How fast the time goes by! Apparently now that we started a new decade, the 90's are officialy vintage. For me, that was the years when I discovered fashion, having been born in the early 80s.., and now we're going back to them. My favourite store Selfridges has opened a concept pop-up store and it's looking great. You can reminisce and rewind back to your fashion choices back then, and repeat some of them. I think the store is a great idea and quite obviously the designers think going back to the 90's is the way forward. Just check out the bum bags for example. They are huge for spring summer and will make you wish you never got rid of them in the first place. So check out Selfridges for inspiration and raid your wardrobe, cause you may be in for some pleasant surpise, whe you find some hidden gems left over from when they were in fashion the first time around.

show your heart

With Valentine's day fast approaching, you may want to show you've got a good heart. But whilst showing your feelings may make you feel vulnerable, the heart I'm talking about will make you feel like million dollars. It's sparkly and will add a great touch to any party outfit. The little gems make it very NOW, yet it will stand the test of time. It's also very cute and can hold more than your keys and a lipgloss. I love clutch bags and fell in love with this one instantly. It's also very reasonably priced and available at asos.com. So whether you wanna show your feelings or just a great taste, buy this beauty now and watch the admireres chase after you.

Chanel tattoo

These days you can see fashion everywhere. Fashion designer collaborating with businesses and putting their logos on all sort of stuff. So it was only a matter of time when there would be designer tattoos. But worry not. I'm talking about temporary and completely painless form of body art. It was all over Chanel SS'10 catwalk and it's coming to the beauty counters in time for the spring. Mark March 1st in your calender, as these beauties are hitting the stores and I predict a madness. Beautiful art on your skin, without the need of a needle, plus you can change it according to your mood. I literally can not wait!

Lola Rose jewellery - my latest discovery

I was looking for the perfect present for my best friend's birthday. I didn't want to get her the usual stuff people give and tried to look for something that bit special. I've come across a jewellery website and fell in love straight away. It's called LolaRose.co.uk and not only the site's graphics are amazing, the jewellery they're selling is even better. Full of gorgeous rings, necklaces, braclets.. you name it, they have it. And at reasonable prices. So if you want to treat someone or yourself (or both), make sure you check it out. It's hard to pick, but I may go for one of their rings. Just look at this pic.

internet shopping

I admit it. I am a shopaholic. My love for fashion isn't just in looking at it, it's about wearing it, which means shopping is essential for me! If I could I would do it 24/7. Well there is so many shops with beautiful clothes there, it's hard to resist. In modern world you can actually shop 24/7 thanks to internet shopping. I am becoming seriously addicted. Whether I'm bargain hunting at e-bay, buying my wardrobe basics at asos.com or looking for that extra special at sites like net-a-porter.com or their outlet version outnet.com, I'm spending rather a lot of time online. And who can blame me? These days it's really hassle free and available anytime and anywhere. Hooked! What is your opinion on internet shopping?

my handbag obsession

I am obsessed with handbags. I realized I haven't been paying them enough respect in my blog so far, so it's about time I changed it. I like bags in any shapes and sizes and again believe you can never have too many. Like any other accessory it can completely change your outfit and give it the final perfect touch. My favourites include Bayswater by Mulberry for it timelessness, anything by Balenciaga and of course you can't go wrong with Chanel. But here I'm gonna show you my pick for upcoming spring and summer, that will be great addition for any wardrobe for various reasons. Bring them on.
Have a stylish day.

party dressing by Lanvin

I hate January. It seems like the longest, greyist, the most miserable month. The party season is officially over and summer is still far far away. But it doesn't have to be like this. The good news is, it's many of my friend's birthdays coming up, so there is always reason for a party. And dressing up! By now I'm really fed up with all the extra layers and feel like introducing a bit more of a colour into my wardrobe. I admire Alber Elbaz and his SS'10 collection for Lanvin is just so beautiful. The draping is a big hit for spring summer and it's great for all of those, who have been indulging over the Christmas period. The statement necklaces are going nowhere as well and you can see why they are so popular. Easy way to update your wardrobe, they instantly lift a simple outfit without being too much. Bring on the party!

Style crush - Olivia Palermo

I am always browsing the internet for outfits. I like getting inspired by beautiful photgraphs of different looks. I've come across this picture of Olivia Palermo, whose style I admire. Her outfit is simple yet chic. I especially rate the shoes, which are to die for. And the statement necklace? What's not to like!

John Galliano - creative genius

John Galliano is a master of illusion. I love his playfullness and the stories he says with his creations. This is from his collection SS'10. I love it!

summer dressing by Blumarine

When the sun comes out I straight away feel more positive and want to wear more colourfull clothes. It lifts my mood and I can't wait to get rid of some layers. As you probably know by now I have this obsession with pink, but there are many beautiful colours out there and the SS'10 catwalks were full of them. One that stood out for me was by Blumarine. Very playfull, colourfull and so wearable. I've also added a look which may not be as colourfull, but is such a great outfit for the hot months. Bring on the summer!

DvF

When I was looking at the pre-fall 2010 collections, this look caught my eyes. It's not my usual style and something I would normaly wear, but fashion is about pushing boundaries, trying new trends and playing with clothes. It looks beautiful. I love the jacket, that you could wear with anything you own already and the dress is a great transitional piece. Courtesy of Diane von Furstenberg. Get inspired.

naughtycal - Pre-fall '10 DKNY

I know the winter is nowhere close to finished and we are all looking forward to shed some layers, thinking of summer and it's colourful clothes, yet I couldn't help but show you one of a great pre-fall 2010 collections. It is from DKNY by one of my favourites designers Donna Karan. It has a very nautical feel, which I really love wearing especially in the summer months, so it seems like it's prolonging the good weather. It is very wearable and so easy to update with some new accessories every summer, because this trend never really goes out of fashion. You can just throw it on and mix with your basics, making it perfect for the busy girls on the go. Release your inner sailor!

Filed: dream necklace

I love Chanel. Anything and everything. I like timeless classics and that is exactly what Chanel represents. Every item is bang on trend at any given time. Tres chic. If I had the money, I would spend loads and loads on Chanel. The clothes, the handbags, the jewellery. I especially love their necklaces. I admire what Coco did for women and the way she dressed. She was famous for her love of pearls and jewellery. These need no words. Pure perfection.

my handbag obsession

O.k. this post may be coming a bit late as this handbag is already sold out, but I just LOVE IT. Mainly because of the colour, because if you read my blog regularly, you know I am obsessed with pink. And this shade is just AMAZING! But what I really like about is its potential. It's a timeless classic and it will look great for years to come. Mulberry Bayswater bags are an investment and I wouldn't mind having one in every colour. This one is on my definite wish list and I'm hoping to find it on e-bay or somewhere else. Wish me luck.

return of boho?

Do you remember in the last decade the obsession with boho? It was the time when Sienna Miller was known more for her style than her acting career and Nicole Richie is still a boho ambassador. It came and gone, but it's set to return in the new decade. Look no further than Isabel Marant's SS '10 collection. Her bohemina clothes, casual dresses and slouchy trouser are so comfortable you won't want to take them off. I loved the whole show and am even more exicted for spring to come now, hoping to snap some beauties from this french designer. Worn by the likes of Rachel Bilson and Cameron Diaz I'd be in a good company.

Burberry Prorsum - Pre-fall '10

To be honest I have never been a massive fan of Burberry. I know their famous trench coats are coveted and very popular, but it's just not my style. But I am a big fan of Christopher Bailey and what he's done to the brand is truly amazing. So I am slowly changing my opinion about this label with a great heritage. I loved his last collection and the pre-fall '10 is so good, I rate it all. Very stylish, wearable and timeless. Just what I like. Looks like they're getting a new fan in me and I'm sure there's loads to follow. And what's the news? Leggings and military style are here to stay...
