Czech Marie Claire editorial - Gucci Resort

I don't know how about you, but now the winter has officially started and the days will start getting longer, I simply can not help but think about summer. I can just imagine myself in an exotic getaway. This editorial fits the mood perfectly. I keep promising to bring more Czech editorials, so I'm happy I've found this one from Czech Marie Claire. It stars Vendela Johanssen all in Gucci resort 2012 styled by Sona Jakuliakova and photographed by Dennison Bertram. Shot in Monaco and called "Stroked by the sun rays" I feel instantly warmer just looking at it. Now I just need to book my getaway..

Rachel Zoe - pre-fall 2012

I am a big fan of Rachel Zoe. She's a good business woman and a stylist. Her reality TV show The Rachel Zoe Project gives you a good insight into the world of fashion. I was really interested to see how she'd do as a designer. She's just shown her fourth collection, her best one yet. She's usually all about the 70s, which isn't  my style so much so I was happy to see that this time Rachel got her isnpiration in the 60s. Outerwear is becoming her thing and you can expect some well cut peacoats and blazers. Faux fur is of course also present, as are jewel tones alongside black and white. It's definitely thumbs up. What do you think?

Z-mode at Futurespace magazine

As you may know I'm a regular writer for Futurespace magazine. I met Victoria of Z-mode at London Fashion Week and she is a lovely, ambitious woman. Read my latest article about her label here.

Prada SS 12 campaign

I remember the Prada SS 12 fashion show, like it was yesterday. It was different, it was innovative, it was what Miucciua Prada does best. Now the images have been released for official campaign, which is set around a gas station in a 1950′s inspired shoot photographed by Steven Meisel and it screams perfection. You can just feel the fifties vibe. And could Natasha Poly look any hotter? The other models included are: Meghan Collison, Elise Crombez, Ymre Stiekema, Katryn Kruger and Kati Nescher. What do you think?

Vintage Sunday - by Roxanne Lowit

Roxanne Lowit is fashion and celebrity photographer, who has become a celebrity herself. She has a degree in art history and textile design and was a succesful textile designer before becoming a photographer. She got backstage at fashion shows thanks to friends like Jerry Hall and realised that's where she belongs.
Her worked has appeared in countless of magazines including Elle, Vanity fair and Glamour and did a lot of advertising work including Dior. Her book Backstage Dior is one of my favourite photography books. As a big fan of her work as well as John Galliano, it's full of colourful images that gives you insight into the world of Dior from a different perspective. Must-have.

Party feet - Matches sale

It's a sign that we're still deeply in recession, if so many sales are starting before Christmas. Even from many big labels and retailers. But let's look at the positives. You can treat yourself and save money whils at it! On Friday the Matches sale started and it's usually a good one. So for my today's Party feet post I've picked the six best shoes I'm lusting over, giving Santa a week to pick the right pair for me. The list includes great nude flats that should be in every woman's wardrobe, animal print sling-backs by YSL and those pink beauties that are my shoes of the season! Love them, now they've been reduced I think I'll have to buy them no matter what!

Are you a Lounge Lover?

I think we'll all agree on the fact that this is a busy time of the year. For everyone. So it's more important than ever to take time for yourself and relax too. Ideally with a glass of mulled wine and a good book. When chilling out, you want to feel comfy and that's when Lounge Lover comes in. These clothes are not only good for lounging around, they are great quality basics for your wardrobe for day wear. Actually every time I met up with Sylvie Gabriel - the designer of Lounge Lover - she was wearing the label and looked super chic. The feel of the clothes is just as important as the look for her, so you're guaranteed cosy time. Below are some pieces I'm loving for SS 12.

Today I'm going to start posting party outfit inspirations, because let's face it, the festive season is upon us and with it many occasions for dressing up. All from net-a-porter.com (can you tell I love that site?).

Jewelled Wednesday by Estelle Deve

French born designer Estelle Deve has got fashion in her blood. Her auntie was a fine jeweller for Chanel under KarlLagerfeld. Not a bad heritage. Despite being self taught, her designs caught eye of many fashionistas. I love her edgy yet elegant pieces. Available To buy at my-wardrobe.com, shop them all here.

Buy of the week

With this dress, it was a definite love at first sight. I'm a big, big fan of the longer lengths, it's smart enough for office (throw over blazer to cover up the back) and just as great for the evening, just add sparkly jewellry and sexy heels. Did I mention it only costs£35! What's not to love? The only problem you may have, is to decide on a colour. Black and red are both timeless and chic, the blue one looks very now and will ensure you stand out from the crowd. Either one, I simply can't resist. Available from ASOS, you can shop them  here.

I have a feeling the super talented Christopher Bailey is behind this. So on their behalf and of coure from myself too, I wish you all Merry Christmas. Watch the video here.

Party feet - sparkles by Jimmy Choo

It wasn't intended to write about Jimmy Choo two weeks in a row, but I saw this picture and it was everything about it, that I knew I had to feature it. The festive season is upon us and with it all the parties that call for sparkle. Even if it's not something you'd wear the whole year round, this time of year you should definitely add some glitter and sparkle to your outfits. Whether it's shoes or bags (or both), get inspired by Jimmy Choo and shine!

Jewelled Wednesday - by Miu Miu

I am slightly obsessed with Miu Miu website (among others). I often check their accessories and jewellery which can be all purchased online. Currently this is my favourite thing, something I wouldn't mind finding under the Christmas tree. It comes in different colours, but of course pink is my favourite. Perfect for dressing up an LBD. See the whole selections of Miu Miu jewels here. They have some amazing stuff if you want to treat someone or yourself.

Funmilayo Deri - the interview

Recently I wrote about Funlayo Deri, a label set up by Funmilayo Csilla Deri (if you missed the post read it again here), and I promised you an interview too. Well here it is! I hope you enjoy it.
Have a stylish day.

1. You're based in London and Budapest, why those two cities? Where are your collections produced?

Both of these cities are home to me. When establishing my label, it was natural to continue to have a base in both. I’m in London most of the time, but spend time in Budapest overseeing production when collections are being made. In addition to being home, London is a young designer-friendly environment. There is a lot of support and encouragement here for emerging talents.

2. How they both inspire you, what inspires you?

Inspiration for me can come from any and everything – movies, theatres, museums, my emotions, experiences, my background, people, to mention a few. London is one of the world’s fashion capitals. I get so much inspiration from daily life here. There’s just a great creative feel to the city. Budapest is a beautiful city, rich in history. The historic buildings and the art scene inspire me.

3. Your label is very young, what have been the highlights so far?

There have been many highlights, and I keep learning and discovering new things about running a fashion business. Some of the highlights this year were when the collections were launched and the results of months of work were showcased to an audience. The first was the catwalk show at Africa Fashion Week in New York which received good coverage by CNN. The second was the exhibition with Felicities Presents during London Fashion Week.

4. What are the plans for the future/goals/dreams?

My ultimate goal is to build a brand that stands the test of time. I will continue to design womenswear and will incorporate accessories, children and menswear.

5. Who is Funlayo Deri woman?

The Funlayo Deri woman is confident, sophisticated, captivating, with refined taste, a woman with a strong sense of style who is not afraid to stand out from the crowd. She is passionate, cultured, loves life and new experiences.

6. Is there any person/ celebrity you would like to see wearing your designs?

I would like to see my clothes worn by women who love fashion, who have their own style and want to wear stand-out pieces. Their clothes don’t define them, but they use what they wear to make a statement. With regard to celebrities, it’s difficult to pick just one, so Zoe Saldana, Halle Berry, Michelle Obama and Blake Lively among others.

It all sounds very exciting and I wish you best of luck.

Vintage Sunday - Karen Mulder

For today's Vintage Sunday I decided to put pictures of Karen Mulder. For no particular reason, other than the fact, she was one of my favourite supers. I remember growing up, collecting images of these beautiful women, dreaming to be like them, when I'm older. She doesn't seem as famous as the others and it's a shame. I mean, look at that face! There is more photos on my tumblr, I hope you enjoy them all. Happy Sunday.

Party feet - Jimmy Choo icons

It was a bit of a shock when Tamara Mellon announced she was leaving Jimmy Choo, the company she set up many years ago. 15 to be precise and as a celebration, they released a book (coffee table must have) and a special edition of shoes inspired by their archives called ICONS. See the whole collection here. And iconic they are. These beauties are the perfect statement accessory and will transform any outfit. They are not just shoes but a collectors item. Great present for any shoe/Choo lover.

Outfit inspirations

For today's Outfit inspirations post I used all garments from the past. Nothing new, all from net-a-porter.com. So you see new ways how to wear what you may already have. And then I just played around with the rest. What do you think?

Adam skinnies £825
Chinti and Parker jumper £350

Introducing: Danny Tang

Danny Tang was born in Malaysia, where he excelled in Fashion studies and started working with a fashion designer when he was 16. He moved to London in 2004, where he attended London College of Fashion and worked as a succesful freelance designer and stylist. In 2009 he launched his label Danny Tang, initially a line of accessories, that was so popular that it led to designing a full clothing line.
His debut AW 10 collection was shown with the help of Vauxhall Fashion Scout and was a huge success. He now shows internationally at New York, London, Paris, Shanghai and Tokyo.
The SS 12 collection was inspired by Danny's travels through Japan. The sculptural designs were influenced by Japanese architecture. Danny Tang's signatures like texture, volume of fabrics and combinations of hard and soft outlines are well visible. All finished with delicate hand beading, the result is quite striking. Here are some pictures of outfits I loved at a press day, but make sure you check out DT's website too.
