HOH clutches

I hope you're enjoying the long weekend fashionistas. The weather has been playing with us and I don't know how about you, but I don't know how to dress these days! My solution to this umbrela/sunglasses weather (as I call it) is layers.
And maybe a nice clutch to give an edge to your outfit. How about these from House of Harlow collection by Nicole Richie. I love how she's playing with textures, using different materials and interesting patterns. The leopard print one especially will breathe a new lease of life to any old LBD. Which is your favorite?

Vintage Sunday - by Greg Kadel

Those who follow me on twitter may have seen a picure I posted of YSL cigarette packet. It looks very stylish and my question was: Would you take up smoking for these? I talked about this subject before, after Kate Moss strutted the Louis Vuitton runway puffing on a fag. I'm very anti-smoking, but have to admit, in fashion images it adds certain something. Sex appeal? Am I hypocritical for thinking this? As much as I love these photos and YSL cigarettes I'm not planning to start smoking and in no way I am promoting it.
But look at the photo below by Greg Kadel, American photographer who's done countless shoots for various editions of Vogue, NĂºmero, Harper's Bazaar and fashion campaigns, and tell me the cigarette doesn't "belong" there. What do you think?

Party feet - by Alaia

This has been a exciting week for fashion lovers full of exciting news. One of my top ones is an extension to Alexander McQueen exhibition at the MET museum NYC due to high demand of visitors. It'll give me extra time to hopefully get to New York and see this unmissable show.
Secondly Azzedine Alaia has announced he will show a semi-couture show at Paris Fashion Week, which used to be exclusive to selected few. The Tunisian born designer's creations are coveted all over world and I bet his show will be magnificent. To honour this great news, I decided to dedicate a Party feet post to this master. Wheter you're looking for party shoes, that will be the cherry on the cake of your outfit, pair of heels to give your work ensemble that extra oomph or the perfect pair of flats, you'll find it all at Alaia. Here's few good examples, but it was hard to pick. Shop the selection below and more on  Net-a-porter. If you can't afford to pay the full price, you're in luck as Outnet have a special sale on right now, so grab a bargain there, but be quick. At these prices, they won't last long.
Have a stylish day.

Jewelled Wednesday - by Tod Binns

Another Wednesday, another jewellery post. I love these as I'm such big fan of all accesories. Today I'm bringing you just one item, because it's so great in many ways it deserves a post on its on.
This necklace by Tod Binns is the perfect piece for upcoming summer and beyond. Give thumbs up to the neon trend with this sparkly number, use it to update your LBD or mix with clashing colours to show your style credentials.  I think it would look amazing with orange or fuchsia. It will definitely brighten up your day and your wardrobe. Love! Available at Matches.com.

Introducing: Iris Van Herpen

What I love about traveling is discovering new culture, new places and everything a foreign country has to offer. I don't expect to discover much when I go home to Czech Republic, as I tend to spend all the time with my family and forget about everything else.
But that's exactly what happened when I went home last month over Easter. By reading the in-flight magazine I've come across a great new designer and man am I glad I did!
Iris van Herpen started her own label in 2007 and I hope for a bright future for her, that she thoroughly deserves. Born in Holland, she graduated in fashion design, she went on to get work experience at Alexander McQueen (you can see his influence).
She combines old craftsmanship with latest digital technology and the results are like a piece of art. The structure, shapes and attention to detail are simply breath taking. She showed twice at London Fashion Week and I'm hoping for a return. What do you think?

New arm candy

It doesn't happen very often that I get excited about a new line of handbags. I've got few favourite signature styles that I like and tend to stick to. But as soon as I saw the new addition to Mulberry family - Taylor - I fell in love. It's perfect in every way. The shape resembles a doctor type bag, which is going to be massive next season! and it comes in three sizes. Mini, regular or oversized, something for every occasion. Mulberry has been doing really well in recent years and Emma Hill has done wonders for the brand. This is a further proof of her design talent. I predict long waiting lists for this arm candy. At the moment coming in four colours: black, dove grey, green and tan, the question is: which one to go for? Which do you like the most?
Also I want to point out  their new book release, celebrating 40 years in business. Coffe table book I need to have!
Have a stylish day.
