Stylish homes - DvF candles

It's no secret I like candles. They are a great way to accessorise your home, plus the right smell can lift your mood. The candles by Diane Von Furstenberg are especially pleasing to my eye. Yes you guessed it, they are pink so of course I'm going to love them. I like the simple prints of Moon (a burst of gardenia combined with cedar, amber and bergamot) and Sun (a blend of floral scents like hyacinth and jasmine)  in gold or silver as well. Available online or at DvF store, they are a perfect present for Mother's day or just a treat for yourself.
Have a stylish day.

Buy of the week

When I saw these in Christian Louboutin shop recently, they instantly caught my attention. Now they arrived at net-a-porter, there really is no escape from them. A must-have purchase! For a wedge addict like me, they seem just perfect and the pink patent colour is to die for. A pair of espadrilles are essential for summer and they don't come more chic than this. Buy them here.

Jewelled Wednesday - by Mawi

Today I got very excited, when I found out, one of my favourite jewellers Mawi are to open their first stand alone store in London. To celebrate the good news, I had to dedicate them a Jewelled Wednesday post. I've seen few of their designs around and loved the bold pieces, but when I saw their AW collection at London Fashion Week I properly fell in love. The luxurious stand out pieces are hard to resist and if you're looking for a bold old school glamour yet contemporary design, they are the place to go. I'm glad to hear they're doing well and wish them all the best with the new store. The location is going to be announced soon. At the moment you can buy Mawi at Selfridges, online at Net-a-porter or My-wardrobe (to name just a few), but the biggest selection is here on their website.

Product I can't live without

The spring is here and we can finally loose all the layers of clothing and start showing more. If you've been neglecting your feet whilst they were hidden in socks and boots, now it's the time to give them some TLC. Start with removing old skin and put in a good moisturiser.
Then it's time to add some colour to your nails. I'm loving nail polishes by BarryM. They are a bargain at £2.99 but don't compromise on quality. The staying power is great and the wide range of shades even better. My current favourite is Bright Pink (109) that is bang on the neon trend. If you're not brave enough to wear neon clothes, this is a good way to give a nod to the trend. The Grey (109) is lovely all year round. Very rock'n'roll. So paint your nails, get some pretty sandals on and step into the spring.

American dream

If you read my blog regularly, you would have seen my last week's buy of the week's post about Isabel Marant's work. I'm a big fan of hers and was super excited when I recieved an email from net-a-porter about her collection. It's French chic meets American cool and they called it California dreaming. The collection is very chilled out and perfect to many occasions, easy to be dressed up or down. I'm loving it all epecially the dress I showed you last week and the pants shown before. What is your favourite? Shop it all here.

Vintage Sunday - by Peter Lindbergh

It was one of the last shows of Paris fashion week, that caused quite a stir. Marc Jacobs created raunchy collection for Louis Vuitton. It had mixed reviews. The most talked about moment was Kate Moss, closing the show in a rather revealing outfit puffing on a cigarette. The question asked was, is this promoting smoking?
My today's Vintage Sunday is a photo from 1991 Elle editorial photographed by Peter Lindbergh. Models looking very glamourous whilst enjoying their nicotine fix, shows, using cigarettes in fashion is nothing new. But is that ok? Is it promoting smoking or does it just make a good effect? Let me know what you think.
By the way, I'm a non-smoker who despises the bad habit, but love this photograph.

Gisele Bundchen for H&M

No wonder Gisele Bundchen is one of the highest paid models. Not only she looks stunning, she fits well into any type of campaign. Be it high end or high street brand, you can rely on her representing it well. Here's few pictures from H&M's spring collection featuring the Brazilian beauty. She looks like the girl next door, only her best version of it. And makes the clothes look more expensive. Effortless cool at its best. What do you think?

Party feet - by Christian Louboutin

They say you're either a shoe woman or a handbag woman. I say, it's like a Sophie's choice. I simply can't decide which I like more, although I know I would spend more on a handbag. Good quality made handbag will last you a lifetime, but shoes can get ruined. Saying this, I think every woman should invest in at least one pair of red-soled beauties by the master of the shoe trade - Christian Louboutin. But they're not for the faint hearted. The man hates the word comfy and designs his shoes sky high. But put a pair on and you feel instantly sexier and empowered. From the simple stilettos to the most intricate designs, you can find every shoe you could wish for in his collection. Visiting his store in London's Mayfair is a must. Here's the shop window and a couple of pairs that cought my attention. I bet you'll appreciate these whether you're a handbag girl or a shoe girl. And who says we have to pick anyway. These days we can have it all. No?

Introducing: Imogen Belfield - the interview!

You may remember Imogen Belfield from my jewelled Wednesday post. This young lady caused quite a stir at London Fashion Week with her amazing collection and was named by Vogue.com as best new talent. I fell in love with her jewellery instantly. She creates stand out, statement pieces, that everyone should include in their accessories collection. I was lucky to meet this talented girl and she agreed to answer few questions for me. I'm happy to be bringing you this exclusive interview today. Make sure you remember her name as I expect we will be hearing a lot about her!

First of all tell me what you've been up to since Fashion Weeks? How was Paris?
Fashion week was amazing, and to show at London and Paris for the first was an incredible experience. We had an amazing write up by Vogue.com, naming our jewellery collection as best new talents from fashion week. Since Paris 2 weeks ago it has been non-stop.

I was showing with Vauxhall Fashion Scout in both Paris and London, and it was incredible to be sitting alongside such talented and some very established designers.

What are your plans/goals for the future of your brand?
I'm already planning my next collection, with ideas whizzing around my head...so watch this space!!!
Future goals and plans for my business are just to keep growing, and expanding. I am still very new to the industry so I am learning all the time, and am lucky to work with some incredible people who have already offered amazing advice and help.

What inspires you/keeps you motivated?
What inspires me,
Countryside, space, sunshine, architecture and landscape...
Everyday something new and exciting happens, that's enough to be motivated, I am very excited about how everything is evolving with the business.

What are your favourite trends for summer?
Gold tones, layered and stacked jewellery, geometric patterns and form would be my key trends for spring summer.

Have you got any role model and who?
There are a lot of designers I admire, Shaun Leane's collections never cease to amaze.

And last what's next for Imogen Belfield?
Next up is to develop my collection, you may be seeing some larger sculptural pieces in the next seasons collections! And of course lots of raw stones and gems....

Thanks for answering my questions and good luck with everything.
Have a stylish day.

Yohji Yamamoto at V&A

March 15th saw the opening of Yohji Yamamoto exhibition at V&A. I told you about this event before and I hope you will go if you have a chance. I went and I loved it. There has been a big demand for Japanese and Asian designers, with many of them taking over the world of fashion. Yohji is known for his use of unusual fabrics and playing with cut and shapes and his designs are incredible. There's quite a few on display, including menswear. You can also watch plenty of his catwalk shows on little screens provided and see his extraordinary look books. It's an exhibition not to be missed. And it doesn't end there! V&A are organizing lots of events, including a talk with Yohji Yamamoto himself and their popular fashion in motion (live catwalk show). For more info check out their website vam.ac.uk

Museum of London

It's no secret, that I love visiting museums and galleries. I find it inspiring, broadening my knowledge and a good way to spend free time. Recently I paid a visit to  the museum of London. As you can probably expect from the name, it's a museum dedicated to London and its history. It goes back to first world' war and how has London developed and changed since then. It also looks at its fashion and how it was influenced. I took a few pictures but if you have an opportunity go and see it, because it's really good.

Vintage Sunday - Vanity Fair 1991

Today's Vintage Sunday is a magazine cover you probably all remember. It stars naked Demi Moore, seven months pregnant on cover of Vanity Fair from August 1991 shot by Annie Leibovitz. It caused a lot of controversy, but I think she looks beautiful and it was a great idea to show a woman in different stages of her life. These days people are inspired by the photo (see Harper's Bazaar April Issue as shown here). Do you like it?

Party feet - block heel

My latest obsession is block heel. I mean, everything about it is just great. It looks cool and it's comfy! I've only bought one pair so far and I'm in love. Definitelly planning to buy some more. I'm expecting a big craze over them, because I've seen styles all over high-street (Office, River island and Top shop have some great ones!) as well as in designer collections. Here's my pick from net-a-porter, one of my fave shopping destinations. I'm especially loving the colorful YSL ones and playful Marni. Are you planning to go for block-heeled shoes this season?

Buy of the week

Ok, this skirt is a bit pricey, but I believe it's worth every penny. I love the colour chart and the detailing. You can wear it now with black opaque tights and ankle boots and come summer, bare legs and strappy sandals. I love Matthew Williamson's work and consider some of his clothes pieces of art. This is a true collector's item and if money is no objectget yours at net-a-porter.

Jewelled Wednesday - Rachel Zoe for QVC

It's no secret I'm a big fan of Rachel Zoe. I was excited when she came up with a collection of jewellery for QVC. She's got such a great style, it was guaranteed to be a hit. And the pieces are great. Plus for AW 11 she is coming up with her own brand line of clothing as well, which will be available in selected stores. How exciting. Today I'm bringing you my top pick of her rings, necklaces and earrings, but do check QVC.com for more as there is loads and it's all looking great (you wouldn't expect anything less from Rachel) and when you're there have a look at the handbags too. I promise you'll love it all.
