The return of the mule

In fashion, some things come and go, some never really leave and become timeless classics and some come back, maybe slightly unexpectedly. Take a mule for example. After years and years of stilettos and highest of highs platforms, this seems sudden. Out of a blue comes a return of shoe that many fear wearing. They don't offer that much support and make noises when walking in them. But it makes sense. With the boom of super feminine clothes and lady-like glamour many styles of shoes may be too harsh. It's nostalgia in many shapes and forms. Don't worry though that sky high pumps will disappear, they are still a big hit. But when the likes of Miuccia Prada (both for Prada and Miu Miu) and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton decide to bring back mules, some changes in footwear are to be expected. And whith the styles they showed, I'm quite excited. Are you? Will you wear mules?

Miu Miu handbags SS 12 edition

Paris Fashion Week finished yesterday, wrapping up the whole fashion month. Wow. Hasn't it gone fast! I'm already working on my mental wish list and trying to figure out how I'm gonna get short shorts and bare midriff ready. Plenty of time..
As a tradition on the last day of PFW, Miuccia Prada showed her Miu Miu collection. This time the clothes seemed more mature but still playful and fun (you wouldn't expect otherwise from Prada). But I decided to concentrate on the bags as I'm a big fan of them (what girl isn't). They were very lady like, quite small(how much stuff do we really need to carry around), vintage inspired and oh so desirable. Made from luxurious fabrics like lace, velvet and satin, I loved the detailing of contrasting handles. The palette was colourful with mainly yellow, pink, red and blue. There was quite a lot of prints, appliqué and interesting detailing. Definitely something for everyone. Which one is your favourite?
PS: how cute are the pink mules in pic 6.

Alexander McQueen SS 12

Alexander McQueen needs no introduction. I am such a big fan and their show is the highlight of the whole fashion month for me. Sarah Burton has done an incredible job, following in McQueen's footsteps, continuing his legacy. I bet yesterday he was looking down from heaven and was very happy about what he saw. The collection was mesmerising. The attention to detail is breath taking. All the little intricate finishes. Stunning!
There are more pictures on my tumblr adelasinspirations.tumblr.com so don't forget to check that out too. What was your favourite show?

A short story

Versace

It was during Milan Fashion Week whilst watching the Versace show live stream, that I first decided I need to get myself a pair of shorts. They have become such a wardrobe staple, there's really no excuse not to one at least a pair. And with the fact that the possibilities are endless when it comes to shorts, I was hooked. They are so easy to dress up or down according to your needs, they are really a no-brainer.
So I started paying more attention to shorts during Paris Fashion Week, to check out the cool Parisian options. You can go for totally casual look as seen at Dsquared2 or Isabel Marant, smart casual with Dries Van Noten (the printed ones are a must have), I absolutely love the Chloe way and Givenchy version seems more luxurious, perfect for nights out. And if you're brave enough why not pick futuristic hot pants ala Balenciaga. Love the idea of shorts? Well there's plenty more options so I'm sure there is something for everyone. Let me know your favourite type.
Have a stylish day.

Giambattista Valli SS 12

Not long now till the end of Paris Fashion Week and the whole fashion month. It's been fun watching all the shows and making my wish list for next year. So many great looks to choose from! Giambattista Valli is someone who never disappoints and season after season designs beautiful clothes. Today was no different. I've picked few of the lovely looks, but couldn't help and concentrate on the accessories. The minute I saw the handful of bangles I could barely think about anything else. I know I need to get myself at least one. They all look absolutely amazing and I'd struggle to pick my favourite. I'm also beyond excited that the arm bracelet is back. I've been dying to own few, but they're so hard to come by. Hopefully there will be a nice selection next year.
Also what about the shoes?! Gorgeous like everything Valli. I love all the animal references and prints as it just looks so fabulous. Great collection. What do you think?
