Party feet by Alexander McQueen

Earlier this week I already wrote about Alexander McQueen's show in Paris but because I am such a big fan of his work( and now Sarah Burton's) I think they definitely deserve another mention. The SS 12 collection was of course spectacular, but I wanted to obsess a bit more about the shoes. Oh the shoes. Super high and super glamorous. I am a massive wedge addict, but those aren't just any wedges. Interesting shapes and cut-out detailing make them instantly more chic. The petal ones are so pretty I can imagine feeling like a princess wearing them. And what girl wouldn't want to be a princess at least for a day.
They say every woman should have at least one pair of red shoes in her wardrobe to give her outfits that special something. Can you imagine a better pair than McQueen wedges with intricate beading and gold metallic touch? I can't. Season after season they bring collection of must haves and I am really looking forward to spring now for when these hit the stores.

Alexander McQueen SS 12

Alexander McQueen needs no introduction. I am such a big fan and their show is the highlight of the whole fashion month for me. Sarah Burton has done an incredible job, following in McQueen's footsteps, continuing his legacy. I bet yesterday he was looking down from heaven and was very happy about what he saw. The collection was mesmerising. The attention to detail is breath taking. All the little intricate finishes. Stunning!
There are more pictures on my tumblr adelasinspirations.tumblr.com so don't forget to check that out too. What was your favourite show?
Have a stylish day.

Paris Fashion Week - Alexander McQueen AW 11

It's a hard job filling Alexander McQueen's shoes. But Sarah Burton couldn't have done a better job. In her second season she proved she is the best Lee's successor and truly established herself. Keeping the essence of the brand, but giving it all her own twist I can safely say, this is my favorite show of Paris Fashion Week, if not favorite of them all for AW 11. The rumors keep going about Kate Middleton possibly wearing McQueen gown for her royal wedding and I think, she couldn't make a better choice. Well done Sarah! Wishing you many more great seasons to come.

Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen

It's not an easy job to step into someone's shoes let alone Alexander McQueen's. After his suicide last February Sarah Burton finished his nearly done collection for AW 2010 just weeks before fashion week and then later in it was announced she was named the creative director, to continue the legacy of Alexander McQueen. He was a creative genius and can't really be replaced but she did really well with her first collection, looking through archives and keeping the basic ideas done in her own way. The show got good reviews and here's a picture from magazine editorial with some of the pieces. I love! So well done Sarah! You haven't had an easy task but did really well. I can't wait to see the future creations and what she's going to do with the label.
Have a stylish day.
