Old wives tales /hair mask review/

Few weeks ago I got contacted by the lovely Lily about organic hair care products Old Wives Tail and whether I'd be interested in testing it. As my hair was in desperate need of some TLC I jumped at the chance. I picked the Rosemary & Argan Organic Oil treatment which is aimed at very dry damaged hair (like mine).
I tried it the very same day I received it and have been using it quite regularly since. My hair felt instantly silkier and moisturised. Don't expect miracles - these things take time, but every time I use it I feel a little difference and definitely want to continue.
It has added organic rosemary oil to stimulate scalp and encourage healthy hair growth which sounds great to me!
There are different ways to use it. I put it on overnight as my hair really is in bad condition, but thanks to this it has been improving.
It contains no chemicals or additives and the company gives 10% of their profits to charities.
What's not to like?

Summer beauty

Summer is in full swing so I thought I'd share with you few of my must haves I couldn't currently be without.  In the Summer months I always wear minimal make up, switching my foundation to tinted moisturizer. I've been using Chanel for years but this year I decided to try the new one from Clarins. I swear by their skincare and this did not disappoint.
White and gold are my favourite colours to wear during the hot months, so I just added these Barry M nail polishes to my collection (treasure chest and coconut). They last well and are such a bargain I love them.
The Multiple by Nars is a godsend. I can't get enough and plan to get loads of different colours. This Riviera one is a dusky pink and  I've been putting it on my eyelids and lips as well (it's not call Multiple for nothing..). The consistency is amazing, it feels great on the skin, lasts well and it's soft and dewy - perfect for Summer.
Now on the least glamorous - a deodorant. Let's face it - we all sweat in the summer and this one by Dove is the best deodorant I've tried in a while.
What are you Summer beauty must haves?

Have a stylish day.

The ultimate guide to pink lips II.

It is no secret I love pink lips (well most pink things...). I would even say it's my signature look. I occasionally wear red or nude but very rarely. I did my first guide to pink lips last year here,
but since then discovered new pink beauties which I fell in love with, so I thought I'd do an updated guide. Starting with my current favourite:
1. Nars  Satin lip pencil in YU
It's very bright pink. It's the first lip pencil I've tried from Nars and I fell in love with it and am thinking about buying more. It's super moisturising and has a nice shiny texture and feels nice on. Perfect for every day (if like me you like bright lips). It's very similar colour to Nars Schiap.

2. Nars Schiap
Again very bright (neon like) colour. Before purchasing the pencil, it was one lipstick I wore most but sometime feels too bright. It's down to the matte effect I think because even though it's similar shade, the pencil is not so in your face. Still one of my faves though. Perfect if you need to add a colour to your outfit.

3. Nars Funny face
This is a fuchsia shade (according to them) and it's quite dark. I prefer wearing this in the autumn but still other times too. It's a gorgeous colour and perfect if you want something not so bright. Like the other Nars lipstick it lasts well but feels a bit dry as it's from the matte collection.

4. Clinique Chubby stick in Watermelon
Very very light, more like a gloss. It's moisturizing and feels nice but doesn't last long. It's perfect when you're wearing heavy eye make up or if you prefect very natural look. Also nice layering over lipstick to give it a nice glow.

Have you tried any of these? What are your favourite pink lipsticks?

Have a stylish day.

Lush mask - review

They say: Relaxing, reviving, mineral-rich mask to cleanse, soften and beautify. Fresh nutritious seaweed, cleansing kaolin, antiseptic honey, calming aloe vera and rose absolute makes this a great mask for everyone.

I have to admit this is the first Lush product I've tried. I'm not sure why but I just never bought anything from them. But that will now probably change. I was given this mask and love it!  After using it my skin feel super soft and moisturised. I'd nearly say you don't have to use moisturiser afterwards, but moisturiser is my holy grail of skin care so I do use it. I've been using this mask for about a month now and can feel and see the difference, so it is something I would definitely recommend.
Let me know what are your favourite Lush products.
 Have a stylish day.

Spring beauty

S

Clarins Double serum, Clinique City block, Bare Minerals Never say never lipstick, Nars eye shadow palette, Salvatore Ferragamo perfume, YSL nail polishes, YSL lipstick, Nars Illuminator

Spring is officially here! I couldn't be happier and all I think about is getting my wardrobe and make-up bag ready. I'm definitely re-purchasing Clarins double serum as I'm about to run out and it made a huge difference to my skin. I want to add the Clinique City block, because of my sensitive skin. You can never protect against sun too much. New polishes and lipsticks are always on my list and a new perfume for Spring is a must. Looking for a lighter scent.
What's on your make up wishlist for Spring?

Have a stylish day.

Skincare and makeup update

Skincare and makeup update

I don't blog about beauty as much as I'd like. This is partially due to the fact that I'm quite low-maintenance when it comes to skincare and make up. But since reading loads of beauty blogs and becoming somewhat a lipstick addict I thought I'd do an update on few favourite things. You can read about my skincare routine here and my make-up must haves here, these product have now become important part of my routine too and need to be mentioned!
By now you may know I'm a big Clarins fan..
Clarins Double serum - I tried quite a few testers before buying it, but knew very soon that I'd be purchasing. Changed my skin for better (it was becoming very dry especially at forehead and nothing else was helping) and now I can't imagine not using it. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny.
Clarins Eye contour gel - I am a bad sleeper. This covers it a bit ;)
Followed by YSL Touche eclate - (no woman should be without it).
Clarins Hydra-quench mask - again I had a tester first and loved it. Smells amazing and hydrates beautifully.
Nars Schiap and Funny face - have become my favourite lipsticks. Schiap (pictured) is very bright pink and is perfect finishing touch to a dull outfit. Funny face is darker pink and I love it for every day. They are very moisturizing and feel nice on and I will be definitely buying more.
Have you discovered any beauty must-haves lately?

Tony & Guy fashion fix

(photo Banke)

I was invited by lovely people from Tony & Guy to try one of their AW Fashion fix looks - a series of three up-dos perfect for the upcoming holiday season. They cost £25, which I think is a great price considering they make you look and feel fabulous. I loved my knot and was given tips how to recreate this at home. Watch me try in the near future!
Conveniently I made my appointment on Saturday, just before I headed to London bloggers' lunch at Covent garden. The turn up wasn't bad, I think there was about 15 of us and I met some lovely people. Can't wait to do more things together.
I wore River Island top (old) and skirt.
What's your favourite T&G fashion fix look?

InstaMonday

1. Few of fall beauty favourites. Will be doing a proper post later this week.
2. Buying luxury beauty products is my favourite pick-me-up
3. I love leopard and have been looking for a great new clutch for ages. Now I can't decide which one to go for. Feel free to let me know your thoughts. (I'm slightly favouring the top one)
4. Excuse the quality of this photo.. It was taken at Sketch (toilets),  I loved the decorations. I attended a fab Halloween party there last week.
5. At the very same party we were treated to Union J performance and there were other last year X Factor attendees including Kye (above) and winner James Arthur, but my phone battery died and I couldn't get a picture with him :(

Going red

Going red

The autumn is here and I'm going red! Burgundy more precisely.. It's one of my favourite colours for fall. I've recently purchased this ruffle hem skirt from ASOS sale and have worn it quite a few times already (outfits posts back to normal next week) - it's so pretty and easy to style. I've also purchased the ultimate red lipstick MAC Ruby Woo (you may have seen on instagram) to add to my beauty case.
So now I'm ready for the new season.
What are your favourite colours for autumn?

Have a stylish day.

Hair heros

I am very low-maintenance when it comes to beauty. The less products I have to use the better. That's why it's even more important to me that they work well.

My hair is very dry after years of dying it and using hot styling tools so a good moisturising hair mask is essential. I swear by Kerastase products and have been using this mask for years. I also sometimes treat myself to their shampoo.

Bumble and Bumble is another great brand. The Curl conscious defining cream is the best if you're curling your hair. But be careful not to use too much. A little goes a long way.

Bed head After party is a leave-in conditioner I have been using for about ten years. It smells great, but mostly it's a miracle worker. You can put it into wet or dry hair any time you want and it makes it feel great but doesn't grease it or weight it down. It's the best! I don't see them much in salons any more (cry), but you can get them at ebay at great prices.

L'oreal Elnett are known for their quality. I use the heat defence spray and hair spray to keep my hair at check. High street products with high end qualities.

What are your hair heros?

Beauty giveaway!

To celebrate some mini milestones on this blog and social media I decided to do a giveaway for you lovely readers. I picked couple of my beauty favourites that I hope you will enjoy as much as me.
I am addicted to YSL lipsticks and this one is my favourite. It is in gorgeous pink colour (but I checked and if pink is not your colour can be exchanged).
I am an Essie collector. I've got so many of them. This pretty Watermelon is my latest discovery. It's kind of orangey red. Hard to describe, but I'm sure you'll like it.
Good luck :)

The ultimate guide to pink lips

Ok maybe not the ultimate as I don't seem to wear any matte lipstick, but if you like pink shiny lips, you're at the right place. I love lipsticks and lipglosses and if I ever want a little treat this is what I often buy. I mostly go for YSL or Chanel, but there's a long list I want to try from other brands. So quite possibly there will be another guide :)
1. Clarins gloss Prodige 10 - Vibrant rose. If you want something really neutral with a bit of sheen, this is it.
2. YSL Rouge Pur Shine 11 - again this is very neutral but with a bit more colour. It's super moisturising and feels great on lips. My go-to colour when I'm wearing too much pink already.
3. YSL Rouge Pur Couture 110 - this is the colour I wear the most. Again it is moisturising and feels nice on. You can layer the colour to make it brighter or less bright. I've nearly finished and will repurchase.
4. YSL Golden Gloss 49 - the brightest of them all and I wear it when I need a bit more colour. It's a bit sticky, but I still love it. The colour is beautiful and like all YSL products it feels very luxurious.

Have a stylish day.

My beauty secrets

I'm 32 and my skin is generally in very good condition. Recent tests proved that, so I decided to share my secrets.
1. Drink loads of water. It sounds cliché, but it really is very important. I drink on average 3 liters a day.
2. Cleanse your skin daily. I swear by the One-step gentle exfoliating cleanser by Clarins. It is my favourite Clarins product along with the Nails and hand cream - I have been using both for years.
The cleanser removes all make-up and makes my skin feel super soft after. I can't imagine my life without it any more. I would love to say I use toner regularly too but I don't. Really want to get into that routine though.
3. I use SPF on my face daily. The Hydra Quench lotion is everything my skin needs. I used to use the Multi-active Night cream , but now have been given the Vital Light Night to try, so far so good.
4. I was advised by a beautician to use eye cream daily and have been using Eye Revive Beauty Flash ever since.
5. The Hydra Quench Cream mask is new to me. I've only used it couple of times so far, but know I'll buy it again. It smells divine and does exactly what it says.

These products may seem pricey, but you only need to use very little and they last me for up to 6 months. Also I often buy these when they have offers on and you get extra products too. Saves pennies plus you can try new products. I believe your skin is worth investing in and after years of trying I realised this is what works for me.
I am also planning to buy the new Double serum. I was given quite a few samples and loved it.

What skincare do you use? What products do you swear by?
Have a stylish day.

Madison Ave-hue

As the ultimate Miss Pink I have a big selection of pink nail polishes (among other things). I've discovered Essie Madison Ave-hue quite a few weeks ago now and have been wearing it nonstop. It's such a great shade for summer. It's actually quite matte (the first photo shows it the best) but it's got a tiny bit of glitter in it. Whether you wear it on its own or with glitter, combined with different shade. The possibilities are endless. And I can't get enough. But it's limited edition so I better stock up..
What is your favourite nail polish right now?
