Introducing: Nancy Van Ostren AW 11

As promised before, I'm bringing you more pictures from the AW 11 collection by Nancy Van Ostren. I absolutely fell in love with her structural designs. The AW colour palette is mostly black, white and pink (yay:)) and few bits of petrol blue. Her signature use of embellishment adds interesting detailing. The shapes are very architectural, origami inspired. Working her way up at Zandra Rhodes, Jasper Conran and Burberry, her debut AW 10 collection was a hit. And judging by her latest designs, I expect to hear a lot about her! So make sure you remember this name now.

Buy of the week

How amazing are these wedges from H&M! Wedges are my choice of footwear for most of the year, but in the summer I simply can't live without them. These nautical beauties are great with cropped pants and simple tee for your beach look or skirt and a blouse for chilled out weekends. Now the sun has been coming out a bit more, it's time to start shedding layers and this pair of shoes is an easy way to accessorize to perfection.

Paris Fashion Week - Alexander McQueen AW 11

It's a hard job filling Alexander McQueen's shoes. But Sarah Burton couldn't have done a better job. In her second season she proved she is the best Lee's successor and truly established herself. Keeping the essence of the brand, but giving it all her own twist I can safely say, this is my favorite show of Paris Fashion Week, if not favorite of them all for AW 11. The rumors keep going about Kate Middleton possibly wearing McQueen gown for her royal wedding and I think, she couldn't make a better choice. Well done Sarah! Wishing you many more great seasons to come.

Paris Fashion Week - John Galliano

The legend lives on. No matter what happens to John Galliano from now on, I hope people will always remember him for his beautiful creations. As I said in previously, I hope this is all just a bad phase for John and he will come back stronger than ever, with his creative mind working miracles. Just look at this collection of clothes for sophisticated sexy women we all strive to be. He understands us and designes beautiful pieces season after season. His romantic vision is second to none. His clothes are empowering. Therefore I hope for a happy ending for him. For the sake of us all. We need him. Happy International Women's Day.

Vintage Sunday - Rene Gruau for Dior

To pay a tribute to fallen star John Galliano, I decided to dedicate today's Vintage Sunday post to Dior. It's an advert illustrated by Rene Gruau. His illustrations are simply beautiful.

Party feet - by House of Harlow

Nicole Richie has come a long way since her Simple life days. Now she is on a way to stardom as a designer for her two lines Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960. The latter especially has been on my radar, consisting of great jewellery range and even better shoe collection. This season I can't praise it enough and it was about time I mentioned it in Party feet. Here's my top 3, but see more and shop here. You can count on Selfridges to stock great shoes.

Dolce and Gabanna AW 11

Definitelly in my top five Milan collections, Domenico Dolce and Stephano Gabanna delivered another spectacular show. The collection is full of beautiful feminine dresses, that just ooze sex appeal, also lots of masculine looks done in a very cool way. Stars were the main print, so prepare to shine, as I bet this will get copied all over high street. The colour palette consisted of mostly black, midnight blue and white, with the odd splash of brigh hues. Very very good collection. Well done boys.
