Fashion exhibitions

This year is a fashion feast for fashion obsessed. There are some great exhibitions all over the world including the ones I told you about earlier this year in Amsterdam and New York, there is also a Contemporary Fashion exhibition and YSL exhibition in Paris and London just boasts with them. Next week will see the start of The Browns Exhibition celebrating Brown's 40 years in fashion, also from 28th May you can see fashion past and present at the newly renovated Modern Galleries of London in Museum of London and June 3rd is when Maison Martin Margiela 20 exhibiton starts at Somerset House. And let's not forget about The Grace Kelly exhibiton at V&A which is on now. All very interesting and inspiring I can't wait to check out as many as possible and report back to you.
Have a stylish day.

Amanda Wakeley SS'10

I used to be more of a trousers girl. I don't even know why, they just always seemed to be an easier option. But that all changed and I'm falling more and more in love with dresses. I mean they are so easy to wear! You can just throw them on, add a bit of a jewellery and you're done. And they're even easier to take from day to night. Just add heels for the evening, whilst during the day ballerinas, or when it's warmer, some sexy flat sandals will do. Perfect!
For an amazing selection of dresses look no further than Amanda Wakeley. I like the minimalistic aproach and amazing silhouettes. She's using lot of draping that is so NOW and also very forgiving (if your body is not entirely ready for summer). Check out her website Amandawakeley.com, pop into her store on London's Fulham Road or any Harvey Nichols in the country. You won't regret it!
Have a stylish day.

Stylish home

I not only love fashion, but anything stylish. I've been to some very cool places, bars, clubs, homes and paid a special attention to decor. I very much appreciate it, when people express themselves not only throught clothes, but through their home as well. You can expect in my place a lot of black, white and pink(same as in my wardrobe). I saw this armchair from John Lewis and loved it straight away. I wouldn't go overboard with pink, but I can see this somewhere in the corner of a living room, adding a bit of colour and a feminine touch. Amazing! Availabe to order online or instore.

The Met Ball

The Met Ball at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is one of the most glamorous events. This year it saw the opening of the exhibiton American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity which I told you about last month (I'm definitely going to see during my holiday in New York). Here I am bringing you my favourite frocks from last night's event. Thumbs up to Emma Watson for flying the british flag in Burberry. You can see, why she is the face of the label, as she looks stunning in this Chrispher Bailey design.
Have a stylish day.

Coffee table books

I love reading and books and can spend hours in libraries and bookstores. Combine fashion and book and I'm at my most excited. Coffee table books are not only very inspiring and educating, they look great too. There are quite a few coming out this year including Emilio Pucci - due out 25th July.
Here are few suggestions that I believe every fashion fanatic should own, including my favourite Tom Ford - Ten years, showing his years at Gucci and YSL - I'm obsessed!
Have a good day.

Meadham Kirchoff for Topshop

Benjamin Kirchoff and Edward Meadham have been doing well since graduating from Central Saint Martin's. Their label Meadham Kirchoff is the go-to for original cool pieces and they have been getting praise from all fashion insiders. It is then no surprise, that they are coming up with a special collection for Topshop. It will mainly consist of edgy tees and dresses with their signature style. I'm thinking we're definitely in for a treat. Check it out instore or online at Topshop.com. This is a high street collaboration not to be missed.
Have a stylish day.

Prabal Gurung

If you liked the dress Olivia Palermo wore in yesterday's post, you're in for a treat. Because I can reveal that this particular dress is by Singapore born designer Prabal Gurung. He hasn't been on the fashion scene for a long time, having launched his own label during New York Fashion Week in february 2009, but he has been already causing a stir, collecting praise and fans all over the world.
This talented man studied fashion at New Delhi's National Institue of Fashion Technology before moving to New York, where he was interning for Donna Karan, whilst studying at Parsons School of Design. There he won Best Designer competition. Then he was working for Bill Blass for five years before starting his own label.
In March this year he was nominated for CFDA Swarowski Womenswear Award and you can see why he's so popular. His collections are full of beautiful dresses with intricate detailing and other pieces with edgy twist. I love it all! Here is few pictures from SS'10 collection.
Have a nice day.
