If you don't know Camilla Skovgaard (I doubt it) make sure you familiarize yourself with her. She is the shoe designer to know. If designing shoes for Amanda Wakeley wasn't enough, she has her own label, which is fashionistas' label to go to for unique footwear. Her collection here at Sommerset House is of course great. All with her signature saw soles, the colours for AW11 are mostly great and black all with interesting detailing Expect fur linings, zips, the hunter's tooth. But thegood thing is, she doesn't do trends. She wants to design pieces that transcends seasons. With the prices ranging mostly between £300 - 400 for a designer footwear it's not bad. When you look at the pictures you will understand why she won Accessory Designer of the Year at Elle Style Awards in 2010, about which she says, is her career highlight. Keep it up Camilla.
Have a stylish day.

playing dress up
When you're working backstage at a fashion show, there is sometimes lots of waiting around. For hair and make-up to be done, for the show to start.. What a better way to fill the time, than to try some of the lovely shoes or accessories you've got around you. I played dress up with shoes... Here are some pics.
Have a stylish day.
trying on a lovely pair of Camila Skovgaard shoes for Amanda Wakeley

love at first sight by Christian Louboutin, so high they were quite hard to walk in, but I'd love to own them anyway, just to look at them..

My week at Ascot - day 1
All this week I'm gonna be bringing you a special feature about my week working backstage at Ascot's fashion shows. For those who don't know, let me explain that Ascot's horse racing is the number 1 event in social calendar, with the Queen attending every day. For those who paid hundreds for their ticket, there is a series of fashion shows every day. The designers showing are Amanda Wakeley, Matthew Williamson, Vivienne Westwood and Stephen Jones (with outfits from Giles and shoes by Christian Louboutin). Even though the event for public started only today, we've been here since yesterday, when we did all the preparations and rehearsals. I can tell you it was a very hectic day. I'm gonna be bringing you pics from backstage plus photos of my outfits. Stay tuned.
Have a stylish day.

The wedding show
gorgeous Martha in Alan Hannah
I've been fortunate enough to work backstage at yet another fashion show, this time A Wedding show at the Saatchi Gallery on London's King's Road for buyers and press. I've been surrounded by stunning models and wedding dresses and met some amazing designers (lovely Amanda Wakeley,Johanna Hehir and Susanne Neville among others). Suzanne Neville dressed quite a few famous brides and a wife of Gary Lieneker, stunning Danielle Bux was one of them and appeared as a guest celebrity model. I'm not planning getting married any time soon, but I am getting an idea of what I would look for in a wedding dress. If you have any questions, let me know.
Have a stylish day.
Martha in Amanda Wakeley like her womenswear, the wedding collection has simple silhouettes, with intricate detailing. The collection is quite minimalistic, yet stunning!

Amanda Wakeley SS'10

I used to be more of a trousers girl. I don't even know why, they just always seemed to be an easier option. But that all changed and I'm falling more and more in love with dresses. I mean they are so easy to wear! You can just throw them on, add a bit of a jewellery and you're done. And they're even easier to take from day to night. Just add heels for the evening, whilst during the day ballerinas, or when it's warmer, some sexy flat sandals will do. Perfect!
For an amazing selection of dresses look no further than Amanda Wakeley. I like the minimalistic aproach and amazing silhouettes. She's using lot of draping that is so NOW and also very forgiving (if your body is not entirely ready for summer). Check out her website Amandawakeley.com, pop into her store on London's Fulham Road or any Harvey Nichols in the country. You won't regret it!
Have a stylish day.
