Louise Goldin AW'10 at LFW

What a great collection by Louise Goldin. Very wearable, I love the cuts and strong shapes. She's used mostly black and blue, which are both so easy to wear in colder months.
The Central Saint Martin's graduate won British Fashion Council's Fashion Forward prize to help her with her shows and business to grow and she didn't dissapoint and showed she really deserved the money. Good luck to her for the future, after this collection I'm not worried about her..

London Fashion Week

Yep it's the time of year again, when London Fashion Week stars. After celebrating 25 years last season and moving to a new official venue at Sommerset House, there is always more to be excited about. I am especially looking forward to seeing collection by Louis Goldin, who won the British Fashion Council's Fashion Forward prize, which is designed to help her staging a collection at this LFW and also one next season. The great thing about this year's London Fashion Week is, that there is going to be a live streaming of shows, so you can be like an insider and watch the shows as they happen. How exciting! And there is of course much more. I will be bringing you reports from the shows I like.

Fashion in Motion

Today I am very excited, because I am attending Fashion in Motion at my favourite Victoria and Albert museum. It's a series of catwalk shows by well-known designers, that they do once in a while. This time the designer is noone less than ERDEM MORALIOGLU. The half english, half turkish, Royal College of Art graduate is known for his beautiful dresses, use of bold colours and amazing prints. I can't wait to see the collection on the runway and of course report back to you.
He has done a stint in New York for Diane von Furstenberg, which can only be a good thing, and founded his own label Erden with ready-to-wear collection in 2005. Since then he has been very popular with celebrities and worn by the likes of Keira Knightley, Claudia Schiffer, Thandie Newton, Chloe Sevigny and the list goes on. Of course he has been recognized for his work as well. In 2007 he won the Swarowski British Fashion Council Enterprise Award and British Fashion Council's Fashion Forward Award in 2008. He was also nominated by the British Fashion Council for Designer of the Year of 2009. In four years since he entered the fashion world, that is quite an achievement!

British Fashion Council Awards

Last night was the night that many awaited in anticipation. It was the night of the British Fashion Council Awards, and what an evening it was! Full of celebrities and fashionistas dressed up for the occasion. I was really eager to find out who won the special London 25 award I told you about last month. It was voted by public and it was a one-off award to celebrate the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week. Kate Moss was the winner, which I'm sure she deserves, as she's been a true fashion icon for years, flying the british flag with her style, that gets copied all over the world. She looked stunning on the night as well, living up to her reputation as a trend-setter.
Other winners included John Galliano for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design, Christopher Bailey as a Designer of the Year and so on. I was especially happy for Grace Coddington who won the Isabela Blow Award for Fashion Creator, which is given to a person, whose creativity has been a major inspiration and influence. She is incredibly creative and was the real star of the film September issue overshadowing Anna Wintour.
