Karolina Kurkova - more than an angel

I am very proud to be writing about today's style icon, because like me, she is originaly from the Czech Republic. The 26-year old super model started her career very early and became the youngest model to appear on the cover of Vogue US. Karolina Kurkova is recognized all over the world and has covered countless of the most prestigious magazines, walked catwalks around the globe and has been a face of several campaigns. Plus she is one of Victoria's Secret Angels. And there's more. She had her first baby boy in October last year and returned to modeling in a record time. Karolina was named "Model of the Year" at the 2002 VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards, in part for her work ethic, having worked twenty-three weeks straight. She is not only a hard worked but also a well known humaritian. Beautiful and helping others. I am a big fan of her and proud to be Czech as well as her and wish her all the best in her career.
Have a stylish day.

Olivia Palermo - style inspiration

I couldn't run a style icons feature and not mention Olivia Palermo. Since appearing on TV screens and getting fans all over the world she's been fashion's darling. Currently starring in Mango campaign with her boyfriend and she recently confirmed to be getting her own TV show next year. How exciting! For her and for us. I can't get enough of her. Her style choices are amazing and she always looks so immaculate. Olivia knows how to put together an outfit, mixing designer, high street and vintage. Regular at fashion show's front row this chic girl gets inspired and inspires. Can't wait to see what her show is going to be like and look forward to watching what she's wearing.
Have a stylish day.

Timeless beauty - Audrey Hepburn

Today I've chosen a style icon that is timeless. The others may come and go but she will always be a style inspiration. Audrey Hepburn has been an epitome of chic and always will be. She gave her film characters that extra something, sex appeal without sexy clothes. No her style is subtle but appealing. Timeless elegance at it's best. Some of her iconic photos are still used as a source of an inspiration and recreated again and again for countless photoshoots. We can teach from her attention to detail, great use of jewellery and undestated dressing. Look at her and you will understand why I like timeless pieces like her. No matter how old the photos they will always look in.
Have a stylish day.

Men's style by Brad Goreski

I realized I am overlooking men and their fashion and am ashamed. As a woman I am obviously more interested in women's fashion and it will always be the major subject of my blog, but I will try to write a bit more about men's style as well. And what a better time than my month of style icons. I picked a man whos style is great and could be a role model for many men. It is noone less than ex-assistant of Rachel Zoe Mr. Brad Goreski. He won million of fans for himself during his time on The Rachel Zoe Project and his personality and style are admirable. Brad finished his work for Rachel earlier this year, but I am sure he will continue doing well for himself. He is a big fan of well cut blazers, worn either in suits or with jeans, likes bow ties, isn't afraid of colour and push boundaries. His signature are geeky glasses that suit him so well. Brad Goreski is a handsome man and dresses really well and can get away with a lot. I love his passion for great shoes and bags as well. I picked few of his cool outfits. Let me know how you like his style.
Have a stylish day.

Kate Moss - from model to style icon

Third post of my style icon's feature goes to Kate Moss. Now thinking about it, maybe she should have been first. Although there is no order in which way I'm gonna introduce who I consider style icons, Kate is definitely at the top of the list. Turning from skinny teenage model discovered by the late Corine Day, her career reached stratosferic heights. She was named the best dressed by Vogue. Not only she gets paid loads of money for ad campaigns, she still once in a while walk the catwalk for the likes of Marc Jacobs or Alexander McQueen, she had a very succesful string of collections of Topshop, which she decided to stop now, but won fans all over the world, has  a perfume under her name and the list continues. Everything she touches turns into gold. And not even the infamous cocaine story could harm her in any way. No. She managed to come out as a winner even back then. It's her personality people admire but especially her style. Whether it's her festival fashion that gets copied all over the world or her every day choices she can do no wrong. Let's wish her continuous success and get inspired by her.
Have a stylish day.

Olivia Palermo @ Vogue.co.uk

My pick from last seven days is one day early this time, but I'm already loving two outfits, so don't wanna wait any longer. Plus it's nearly the end of the month, meaning Olivia's blog is about to end. To me, she is real style inspiration and I advise you to check out all of her outfit in Today I'm wearing at Vogue.co.uk. I love how both outfits look smart yet casual. She always carries an amazing handbag and accessories. I envy quite a few of her statement necklaces.. The khaki parka is bang on trend right now and is perfect for layering. Well done again!
Have a stylish day.

Palermo style

Could there be a new style icon in the making? Ever since MTV's THE HILLS and spin-off THE CITY was aired, its stars have been making headlines for all different reasons. I must admit I never watched the programme but OLIVIA PALERMO's fashion sense caught my eyes. Her style is quite simple with good accessorizing, eclectic but sophisticated. I love the way she mixes designer with high street and vintage finds. She attened this year's London Fashion Week's Topshop show dressed head to toe in Topshop and looked fabulous. She worked for Diane von Furstenberg and must have picked up some tips, getting her fashion credentials. The 23-year old collaborated with Roberta Freymann for a necklace collection and I can't wait to find out what she's up to next. In the meantime I'll be glad to see her pictures in magazines and get inspired.
