I am very excited about this! I count myself as one of the biggest Alexander McQueen fans. I so wanted to see his Savage Beauty exhibition at New York's Met museum I booked flights to NYC in no time. But due to unforeseen circumstance I couldn't make the trip, therefor missed the record-breaking exhibition. I was sad and to be honest couldn't understand why it didn't take place in London (Lee's home) in the first place. I wasn't the only one who thought McQueen should be honored here and was glad to find out there are people out there doing their best to bring this must see exhibition here.
One of them is Melanie Rickey the editor-at-large at Grazia Magazine. She started a petition on her blog, that was signed by more that 2000 people so far (me one of them), but that wasn't it. She did more and it's all looking positive.
Read all the details here, where you can also sign the petititon. The more signs the better!
So fingers crossed and hopefully we can all see this display of McQueen's magnificent work in London soon.
Have a stylish day.

Tribute to the master
I am planning another trip to New York, this time for spring, and was excited to hear about the upcoming exhibition in the MET museum. The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art will honor the memory and vision of the extraordinary talent Alexander McQueen through a retrospective exhibit opening May 4th 2011. If you read my blog regulary, you probably know that I'm a big fan of his work, and was shocked and deeply saddend by his unexpected suicide earlier this year. I can't wait to see this 100-piece exhibit, that is promising the show the best of his career, starting at Givenchy, his own label, and pieces from a show that were revealed after his death (read more about it here). Of course you can expect a review from me after I've seen it. For now I'm bringing you a few pics of famous pieces created by the creative genius.
Have a stylish day.

fashion at the MET
There is something I am very excited about and I want to share it with you. This July, I'm going to New York for the first time and I can't wait. Apart from sightseeing which I love!, I am obviously looking forward to all the shopping I'm planning and also soaking up some culture as well. I'm glad to have found out, that at the time of my stay, there are two major fashion exhibitions going on. For those who may attend, I'll give you all the details and for those who will miss it, don't worry, I'll bring you all the highlights.
To mark the new relationship between the Brooklyn Museum and the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art(MET), The Brooklyn Museum presents and exhibition of some of the most renowed objects from its costume collection. Two exhibitons will run at the same time:
METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART:
American Woman: Fashioning and National beauty 2/5/10-15/8/10
BROOKLYN MUSEUM:
American High Style: Fashioning a National Collection 7/5/10-15/8/10
Both collections will look at the history of women's dressing and how it influenced the way american women dress today. So excited!
