InstaMonday

1. Designer shoes are my weakness. These were my options for NYE. Valentino and Jimmy Choo are my faves, but really want to add Christian Louboutin to my collection this year (hopefully for my birthday in March)
2. Like Carrie Bradshaw, I like my money right where I can see it. In my wardrobe. Which has been newly tidied and reorganised. Looking forward to spring and shedding layers and wearing lots of colour.
3. There's never enough sparkle. Got these earrings in New look for £2 and love them! This girl likes a bargain :)
4. January and February are my least favourite months, so I will spend probably many evenings watching SATC with a glass of red. Just like Friends, you can never watch SATC too many times.
5. #tbt 21st February 2011 was a day that made history. Burberry decided to screen their catwalk show on the screen at Picadilly Circus and I was there to witness it. Now everyone is live streaming, but that was special! Wearing Jonathan Saunders dress.
Can you believe another London Fashion week is nearly here?!

Have a stylish day.

Stylish day out - top 3 exhibitions of 2012

This year is definitely THE year to live (or visit) London. I have loved it always, but 2012 is set to be the best year yet. There is so much going on, you're spoilt for choice how to spend your days off and I'm talking just about the exhibitions. The fashion industry, shopping, choice of restaurants... that would make a whole new article.
For now I've picked the top 3 exhibitions I think are a must-see. All fashion related. One better than the other. Bring it on.

(Christian Louboutin)
Believe it or not, the house of Christian Louboutin has celebrated 20 years of existence! To mark this anniversary, they recently released a book (coffee table must-have) and are doing lots of great promotions this year. There is an exhibition coming to Design museum and it is something (not only) every shoe lover will appreciate. You will be able to see the whole designing process of famous red soled beauties from drawing to finish and much more. See you there. 19/05 - 06/06

V&A museum has been spoiling us recently. So many great exhibitions to visit. I am super exciting about two displays particularly, one of them being the Ballgowns: British Glamour since 1950. More than 60 designs will be on show, including pieces for social events such as private parties, royal balls, state occassions and many more.
You can expect work by Jonathan Saunders, Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham, Giles Deacon and Erdem among others. Can May come any faster?

(Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's)
Last but definitely not least, is another exhibition at the V&A. They've only announced today, that this is happenning so I haven't got much information for you yet, but I will bring more as soon as I know. It will be called Hollywood costumes and will open this fall. It's an extensive collection of famous costumes of the big screen, including the famous dress of Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's, costumes of Jack Sparrow of the Pirates series and many more. Excited? I am!
Have a stylish day.

The yellow trend continues

Earlier this week I wrote about a strong trend appearing on New York's runway - yellow colour. Well I can tell you, three days into London Fashion Week and it's obvious. Yellow is the colour to be seen in next spring/summer! As I said before, you can wear as much or as little of yellow as you want, but at least a bracelet or other accessory ( Sass and Bide pic4) or shoe detail (Jonathan Saunders pic 3) should be part of your outfit. If you prefer more, there are softer tones (Jaeger pic1) or bolder (Emilio de la Morena pic2) and loads of other options (keep checking for the latest news). So there you have it - yellow it is! You've been warned so you better start looking for your perfect shade now.
Have a stylish day.

Jonathan Saunders AW 11

Following today's earlier post about cheaper version of Jonathan Saunders clothes, I am bringing you pictures from hist yesterday's show. This talented Scot has been on my radar for quite a while now and he didn't dissapoint. His use of colour is equisite and although the clothes may seem quite strict, they are very sexy too. I was glad to see first few looks from his upcoming menswear collection as well. It's quite playfull and showing men not to be afraid of colour. Thumbs up for his interesting use of print. I'd say it is one of his best collection so far. I love it all.
Have a stylish day.

London Fashion Week day 2

So it's the day too here at Somerset House. Loads of designers already presented their AW 11 collections and amongs today ones were big names like Jaeger, Henry Holland and Jonathan Saunders (more about him later).  Apart from being here I went round London today, because I had to do some stuff and I took some pictures that I want to show you. So I've got loads of exciting posts coming up in the next few days, don't forget to check regularly.
Today I want to show you pictures from yesterday's show I attended by Jasper Garvida and also share gossip from last night's Vauxhall Fashion Scout's 10th year anniversary party, both held at the Freemason's Hall in London.
Jasper Garvida has been on the fashion scene since November 2008 and has produced four ready-to-wear collections, all highly acclaimed. Its luxury womenswear is one to watch. What better way to describe the collection than in his own words:
Inspired by the novel ‘Soie’ by Alessandro Baricco – a romantic tale of a European man who becomes enchanted by the east – the collection focuses on contrasts, and the beauty that can be formed when two different worlds intertwine. With elements of 19th century design combined with an oriental silhouette, the collection incorporates strong streamlined tailoring and soft draping with demure skirt lengths that have been given a sexy edge in the form of daring slits and peek-a-boo cut-outs to reveal flashes sensuality.

The slick tailoring, armour-like-hand-embellishment and textured pieces are combined with beautiful, softly draped silk jersey and, lace pieces that depict the journey of two opposite worlds meeting, to create balance, harmony, grace and elegance – all of which serves to add an intriguing romantic undertone to the collection.

Jasper Garvida is one of the many designers showcased by Vauxhall Fashion Scout, who help promote new emerging designers to wider range of audience. They have helped exciting talent like David Koma, William Tempest, Felder Felder to name just a few. I was excited to be invited to their party celebrating ten years of being leading platform for design innovation. The free bar full of great cocktails, they had amazing home made sushi and cakes, the music was just right and the crowd interesting. I had a great night and have a few pics to share. Hope you'll enjoy them all.
Have a stylish day.

Red alert

Red is a definite Christmas colour. How many Christmas trees are decorated with red and gold baubles? And although it may not be very original, it is my favourite combination. When I recieved my regular e-mail from outnet.com this morning about red fashion with special discount, I felt excited. Tis the season to wear red! And I wasn't dissapointed. In their selection are many items to lust after. I picked my top five, that will see you through the upcoming season and beyond. So why not treat yourself and be merry. By the way their gorgeous lingerie selection will not only make you feel very sexy, but if you let somone unwrap you, they'll be surely love it as well. See the ultimate selection here.
Have a stylish day.

Cheryl Cole - fashionista

Cheryl Cole has gone from a reality TV star to WAG to nation's sweetheart and a true fashionista and a platinum selling solo artist. In the last year especially, she has been wearing some fabulous outfits, looking great on and off duty. The proof of being a fashion's darling is the amount of front covers she appeard on, including magazines like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, where you can see her in June issue. She looks stunning and everyone who has worked with her says, she is a nice person as well. She has been a good ambassador of british designers, wearing outfits by Julien McDonald, Giles Deacon and Jonathan Saunders to name just a few. As her career goes from strengh to strengh, I wish her her private life will catch up and will be looking forward to more great outfits by this inspiring woman.
Have a stylish day.
