Life lately

New Chanel Iphone case, pampering Saturday with Lush mask (review coming up tomorrow), glass of red and peonies make for a nice evening, can't get enough of stripes, Clarins tinted moisturiser (review coming up), enjoying sunny London on sun loungers, picnic and sunbathing selfie, busy afternoon editing photos, buying peonies - may the season last forever?!

Welcome to another week. Last week was a good one for me (very productive with some good news thrown in) so I hope for the same this week. Here's what I've been up to lately.

Have a stylish day.

Photography workshop with Paul Hames and Simply health

I'm always trying to improve my blog and photography is the one I'm trying to work mostly on. I bought my first DSLR camera last year and have been playing around with it, but haven't really been making much progress (I still use a lot of automatic modes). I've been meaning to take classes, but for various reasons haven't so far.
So when I was invited to a photography workshop by the lovely people from Bright light and Simply Health I jumped at the chance. About twenty bloggers attended on Saturday morning, we learnt great tips and tricks by Paul Hames, then we had a stroll around Kings Cross, ate yummy lunch at KERB food market and then went back for some more photography Q&As.
Now I'll just have to put into practice all I learnt and hopefully I'll be able to share some tips with you soon.

Have a stylish day.

Tim Walker: storyteller - the exhibition

If you like fashion and read fashion magazines (and considering you're reading my blog the chances are high), you've probably come across Tim Walker photography. It's likely you're a fan too. His work has graced countless pages of Vogue.
Now you're in for a treat, as Somerset House has dedicated an exhibition to him. I went to see it yesterday and it's rather good. Very insightful and inspiring, you can expect not only loads of photographs, but also oversized props and more. It's free of charge and if you get a chance I would definitely recommend you go and see it.
Photography is not allowed, but I sneakily managed to take few pics with my iPhone (hence the poor quality).
Have a stylish day.

Vintage Sunday - Paolo Roversi

Few days ago I found out, that I missed an exhibition of Paolo Roversi in London, which finished in March. I'm disappointed as he's one of my favourite fashion photographers, so to celebrate his work I decided to dedicate him today's Vintage Sunday post. This amazon picture of Laetitia Casta just spoke to me, when I was trying to pick something. His work is amazing and this is definitely a good example of it. More on my tumblr.

Vintage Sunday - by Roxanne Lowit

Roxanne Lowit is fashion and celebrity photographer, who has become a celebrity herself. She has a degree in art history and textile design and was a succesful textile designer before becoming a photographer. She got backstage at fashion shows thanks to friends like Jerry Hall and realised that's where she belongs.
Her worked has appeared in countless of magazines including Elle, Vanity fair and Glamour and did a lot of advertising work including Dior. Her book Backstage Dior is one of my favourite photography books. As a big fan of her work as well as John Galliano, it's full of colourful images that gives you insight into the world of Dior from a different perspective. Must-have.

Vintage Sunday by Arthur Elgort

I decided to dedicate today's Vintage Sunday to Arthur Elgort. The born and bred New Yorker originally studied painting, but found it too lonely. He started assisting a photographer until he got his lucky break. He's known for his work for numerous Conde Nast Publications. His debut in 1971 British Vogue caused a sensation, especially his signature emphasis on movement and natural light. His book Model Manual (one of many he released) is full of pictures of the Supers from 1990 and should be in every photography and fashion lover's collection. If it isn't, for now, you can enjoy some of his work below.

Yasmin's photos - black and white

Following earlier posts about my photoshoot with Yasmin, I decided to bring you more photos she took as they are just so beautiful! I love black and white, so I picked only those today but she's got loads of colour ones as well. Check them all out at her facebook page. I'm excited to be collaborating with her on few upcoming projects so make sure you keep my blog regularly. Also you can follow me on twitter and I have a facebook page too. So you always know what is happening.
Have a stylish day.

Photoshoot with Yasmin

Last week I had the pleasure to do a photoshoot with lovely Yasmin. You may remember my interview with her last year, but if you missed it read it again here. Also check out her facebook page and become a fan, because this girl is going to be big! It was a very cold grey day and considering I'm not very photogenic I think she did a great job. We are going to do more shoots in the future so stay tuned. And make sure to let me know what you think. For those interested I'm wearing vintage fur coat (inherited from my grandma), trousers from Zara, boots by Kurt Geiger, top from French Connection, YSL arty ring and Balenciaga handbag.
Have a stylish day.

Yasmin's photography

I love art in any form and fashion photography is right there at the top. And this girl is just so talented! Yasmin Alnajjar is a 19 year old with a bright future ahead. Working on her porfolio at the moment, I expect we will all hear a lot about her very soon. Watch this space! In the mean time check out her facebook page, where you can see some of her amazing work.
Have a stylish day.
