American dream
If you read my blog regularly, you would have seen my last week's buy of the week's post about Isabel Marant's work. I'm a big fan of hers and was super excited when I recieved an email from net-a-porter about her collection. It's French chic meets American cool and they called it California dreaming. The collection is very chilled out and perfect to many occasions, easy to be dressed up or down. I'm loving it all epecially the dress I showed you last week and the pants shown before. What is your favourite? Shop it all here.

Paris Fashion Week - Carven AW 11
I love Carven and am very happy that thanks to modern technology, I could see the collection and share my favourite outfits with you so quickly, after today's presentation in Paris. Guillaume Henry has caused quite a stir with the revival of the brand. It's easy to see why. The collection is sophisticated, sexy and wearable. French chic at its best.

Isabel Marant AW'10 at Paris Fashion Week
I've only discovered Isabel Marant recently, but I've fallen in love with her clothes straight away. She designes wearable, sexy and chic clothes, that has won her many admirers. Her latest collection was full of cropped trousers, which I loved and all the pieces just mix so well together so you can get a lots of wear out of it all. There was also quite a few metallic pieces, a trend that is still big right now, but I can assure you, these clothes will look great more than one season.

Style crush - Olivia Palermo

I am always browsing the internet for outfits. I like getting inspired by beautiful photgraphs of different looks. I've come across this picture of Olivia Palermo, whose style I admire. Her outfit is simple yet chic. I especially rate the shoes, which are to die for. And the statement necklace? What's not to like!

feast for eyes

I realized that after two posts about make-up you might need something more fashion-y. So I'm gonna show you a picture I've come across recently. It's a photograph of a very young Kate Moss in Vogue Italia (year 1992 edition). I love black and white photography and this one is just so chic! Very Chanel with a nice twist. LOVE!!!

nail it

Fashion isn't just about clothes, but the whole look. Don't think, that if you're wearing designer clothes head to toe and your face is scruffy, your hair is having a bad day or your nails are chipped, people will not notice. They will! And it will ruin all your efforts. Therefore I am gratefull for all the miracle beauty workers there are. And in big numbers! One of my favourites is Chanel Le vernis nail colour in black. It's very chic and goes with anything. It has a great lasting power and you only need one layer. Great for busy girls on the go. Black is timeless, sophisticated and cool. No wonder many celebrities are painting their nails black too. So no excuse for your hands to look less than perfect.

The most shocking news

As I said before, I'm gonna look back at the past ten years and remember the highs and lows in fashion and beyond. For me the most shocking news was when I found out TOM FORD left Gucci. I rembemer that day in April 2004 exactly, as I had to get up really early that day going to work and with my eyes yet barely fully open I could see the massive headlines! At first I thought it was some kind of joke or a mistake. So I purchased a copy and read the whole story in disbelief. It was true!
I was interested in fashion from an early age and was always dressing up and trying to find new ways how to wear old clothes. And when I started reading fashion magazines, my memories are of all Gucci and YSL adverts, all created in the Tom Ford era. To me that was and always will be the best and still very inspiring. My favourite campaign was the season of Goth in autumn 2002. All the clothes were just so beautiful and timeless. When I look now at the collection a think you could easily very it today. It's simple but oh so chic!!! I bought a shirt and a cross necklace inspired by that look and they are both as wearable now as they were back then.
Tom is an amazing designer who has been recognized for his work with many awards and he deserves it all. I wish him only success and hope that one day he will return to designing for women. Plus he is so god damm sexy, just as his clothes..
